Telangana Runners 1 1

Our Journey So Far

Though officially established in March 2025, the Society for Telangana Runners is the culmination of a much longer story—one that began with countless footsteps, passionate volunteers, and local communities that embraced running long before we came together as an organization. For years, Telangana has been home to an active and committed running community. From early morning training groups in towns and cities to vibrant annual events like the Kamareddy Run and Miyapur Run, the passion for running has steadily taken root across the state. These events have not only celebrated fitness but also brought communities together and inspired many first-time runners to take their first step.

The formation of this society was a natural progression—a way to unify these scattered but spirited efforts under one umbrella, to share resources, streamline training, and institutionalize running as a way of life throughout all 33 districts of Telangana.

Several districts, including Nizamabad, Siddipet, and others, have already fostered strong local chapters that host independent events and training sessions. These chapters were built on the dedication of runners, organizers, and volunteers—many of whom are now key members of this organization. Their collective experience and deep understanding of community-driven fitness have directly influenced the structure, values, and goals of the Society.

By supporting events like the Kamareddy and Miyapur Runs, we have already begun bridging local efforts with a broader state-wide vision. These events are not just runs—they’re models of how running can foster health, unity, and purpose.

As we grow, we carry forward the lessons, stories, and spirit of every runner who has contributed to Telangana’s running movement. This organization stands on the shoulders of those who believed in the power of community and the joy of every stride. We may be new on paper—but we are built on years of passion, participation, and perseverance.
